Frankly, the Rams are HORRIBLY overrated, more so than any other team in football IMO. They ain't goin' nowheres.
As for SF... give them three years, and they'll be a contender again. Right now though, they have too many holes on boths sides of the ball, and too much inexperience on offense. They showed a lot of good things on Sunday, but they still need more to be playoff-worthy.

Technically, it was '96 by the calendar year, but it was the '95 season. Just had to point that out...

Can't believe there are 6 pages to this thread and not one Giants fan ? All we need is a little consistency from our young QB, Tiki to have another awesome year and a few lucky kickoff returns for TD's and we're in baby
Giants!! Wuwu!!

Umm... beating the Cardinals at home is not exactly what I would call a tremendous accomplishment. Let's see them do it against a real NFL team and then we'll start talking about their playoff potential. Let's also not forget that overall, Eli Manning played a VERY average game at best. Put a decent defense on that field and the Giants go home unhappy.

Brady's calling his own plays now and has nearly as much responsibility running the offense as Peyton.
Fear New England this year.

I notice or Eagle fanboy OP has been fairly quiet since his boys got beat up in their season opener. I'm sure he'll be back in full force after they pound the crap out of the 49ers this weekend.
'omg TO was the best
eagles'
How about the Steelers? Think Ben and the boys can keep it up with some guy named Willie Parker as their starting running back? Oh by the way, Willie leads the league in rushing from week one with over 160 yards.

Look at this guys this is funny, fightin at the game.
NFL players fined for MNF fight
Associated Press
NEW YORK – Nine players were fined for their roles in a fight before this week's Monday Night Football game on ABC between the Eagles and Falcons, with Atlanta defensive tackle Chad Lavalais drawing the biggest fine – $7,500 – for a hit on Donovan McNabb during the game.
Lavalais was fined for using his helmet on McNabb, who hurt his chest on the play. McNabb is questionable for Philadelphia's game Sunday against San Francisco because of the injury.
For the pregame fight, which resulted in Falcons cornerback Kevin Mathis and Eagles linebacker Jeremiah Trotter being ejected before kickoff, both players got $5,000 fines. Also receiving a $5,000 hit was cornerback DeAngelo Hall for unsportsmanlike conduct for grabbing an opponent's facemask and then throwing the opponent's helmet.
Three Falcons were fined $2,500 for entering a fight area, which made them active participants: safety Keion Carpenter, cornerback-kick returner Allen Rossum and safety Kevin McCadam.
Along with Trotter, the three Eagles fined for entering a fight area were linebackers Keith Adams, Jason Short and Mike Labinjo.
During warmups, Trotter apparently pushed Mathis, who responded with a punch. Hall also appeared to throw a punch. Then everyone got into it, forcing the officials to intervene.
Trotter and Mathis were ejected after the officials peered into the replay monitor, which is normally used to rectify disputed calls during the game. This time, it helped determine who started the fight and which players were involved.
Moments later, another brawl nearly broke out. As the Atlanta players were trotting back to the locker room, they noticed the Eagles gathering on the Falcons logo in the middle of the field.
The Falcons ran en masse back to the 50-yard line and fought for position with the Eagles, forcing the officials to separate the teams again. No punches were thrown, and both teams went off slowly in opposite directions to their respective locker rooms.
Yay another use for the replay moniters!

I hate these new rules. Football is NOT a sport meant to be nice. If your on Defence, your objective is to hit the other team as hard as you can. Whether its with your helment or shoulderpads shouldnt matter.
And before anyone knocks me for not knowing about getting hurt because of it. I have 2 screws in my left foot, and I broke all the main bones in my left arm (cant remember what they are called). I loved every second of it.

I agree. There's no such thing as "Unnecessary Roughness" in football. Football is SUPPOSED to be rough. Pregame fighting is different... but getting a good shot in on the QB, damn man... that's what football is all about.

not if you lead with ur helmet like that falcon did to the eagles qb
leading with your helmet is braking the rules
however you can lead with other parts of your body
so that was not right mcnabb should have ran out becuase that hit hurt his ribs.

That is one of the rules we are talking about. Football is football, and people get hurt end of story.

Part of why they lost is that Jeramiah Trotter was thrown out because of the fight, and without him their run D is damn near swiss cheese.
Oh, and here's kharma for ya: the guy who started the fight, Falcons' CB Kevin Mathis, tore EVERY LIGAMENT in his knee during practice yesterday. He'll be lucky to every play again with the severity of the injury.
